This is a great place to visit if you like powerful machines this is the place for you. The raw power of the mighty engines, along with the pleasant rhythmic noise and smell of hot oil is amazing. The museum is well laid out, and there are lots of useful information to explain about the exhibition. There's also a collection of motorcycles, a working telephone exchange and foghorn you can operate, which is fun. There is a cafe (welcoming after the long journey). The admission fee is great value. The staff are really friendly and very knowledgeable. There is so much of interest for all in this museum tucked away in Wales.
There is an amasing collection of deisel stream engines from over a hundred years. A wonderfull selection of old motor bikes. Multiple telephone apparatus units. That work with old phones. You can call each other from ends of the units. Live radio transmitters and recievers. There are lots of helpfull staff in various sections. They are happy to chat with you about the history of the various items in the museum. Some of the old engines are running during the day. There is a small cafe inside. And some items in the other section for sale. Free car park. The entrance fee is well priced.wonderfull place to go if the weather is raining.
Great place. Very welcoming amd are planning on going back and visiting the event day. A lot of detail on the displays too and so many were running. Also enjoyed the telephone room aswell. Very hidden gem!
Outstanding collection and very nice team running it, absolute gem!!
A hidden gem! Fantastic museum, even for those who aren't yet enthusiasts. The interactive telephone exchange rooms are wonderful, great collection of vintage motorbikes and amazing to see a range of diesel and steam engines. My boys aged 4 and 2 were very reluctant to leave, even after several hours there!
This place is amazing it is well worth a visit. It holds loads of history, the staff were very knowledgable and gave us lots of information about the machines that were there. Several of the machines were working and it was fascinating to listen to them. There is a huge range machines here we visited this museum whilst we were on holiday. We would definitely go back for another visit.
