Invermark Castle is a 16th-century tower house situated in the Scottish Borders, near the town of Peebles. The castle's architecture is a mix of medieval and Renaissance styles, featuring a rectangular tower with a rounded corner tower and a grand entrance with a carved stone doorway. The castle's walls are adorned with ornate stone carvings, and its windows are decorated with intricate stone mullions. The castle's interior boasts a grand hall with a high ceiling, ornate plasterwork, and a large stone fireplace. The surrounding grounds feature a beautiful garden, a woodland walk, and a scenic view of the surrounding countryside.
Super sunny day; quick look and walk around the castle as it is not very big and you can't go in ! Nice little walk. Nearby is an old kirk and cemetery - worth a look !
Castle is not that great, but the walk is too good. Loch lee walk was nice till the top of the mountain.
Took few picks while on our way to Loch Lee. Kind of mysterious. Can not get in but beautiful all around. Hope it will be renovated. Would love to revisit.
Not very much to see at this site but it's on the way to Loch Lee which is worth the walk. There's no way inside and all that's left is this one tower. Looks impressive from the roadside on approach though!
It's a building in Glen Esk. You can't do anything apart from look at it. It is very impressive and a wee bit romantic (if you're that way inclined I suppose) What you should be doing is enjoying the walk. Turn round and look at the very pretty horses in the field across from the castle. And then walk further and keep your eyes open for adders ( they're venomous so NO TOUCHING!) Have fun!
Went to look at this after a fantastic walk to the Queens Well, worth the effort to see both
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
