A lovely place to stop in and look around. A lovely mouse trail for the children to find. Beautiful cathedral and lots of information boards. Staff were very friendly and helpful, also lovely tea room in the grounds. Great for a drink, toasties and cake.

One of the great modern cathedrals of Scotland, modern meaning the Victorian age as opposed to mediaeval times. There is a stately earnest grandeur to this building that I highly admire. It arises from the grey sullen banks of the river Ness, with graceful towers and stained glass windows. It deliberately imitates the devotion and wonder of the old mediaeval cathedrals, as the gothic revival style so popular in the Victorian age tended to do, and the ambition is appreciated, even if it lacks the vibrant restless creativity of design that marks many of those great mediaeval cathedrals. In these wild lands of the distant north, this cathedral stands for the presence of order and continuity. It is a lovely building, constructed with genuine care, and its grounds exude such vibrant greenery, particularly in the summertime.

If you like to visot cathedrals, then absolutly visit Inverness Cathedral. Smaller than a lot of other cathedrals but just as equally beautiful and peaceful. Friendly staff on hand and you have your usual information boards explaining the history behind art work etc.

Inverness Cathedral is a lovely place to visit it is very close to the centre of Inverness and is technically free, but they do accept donations to help their up- keep. It has a lot of history within its walls and is a quiet tranquil place to visit.
