Developed boat dock area with lodging, dining & cocktail spots, plus a paved promenade.
I was at Ipswich Waterfront on a Thursday evening in August, in good weather and expected it to be busy, but boats and seagulls outnumbered people. There was one brave soul tackling the wind in a Kayak, but otherwise there was just the boats bobbing up and down. The views aren't bad, I've seen some impressive misty photos of the area, but didn't capture anything as impressive. After my walk I pretended I was fancy and had a beer at Aurora's. This is the quieter end of the Waterfront with most of the action further up towards Neptune Quay. Nice place for a stroll and a bite for dinner.
Can't say much about the town centre other than be mindful of you go out there at night. There are a lot of people just sitting down randomly and drinking. However, the waterfront is pretty and had some lovely bars and restaurants.
It's a nice dock area of Ipswich with various food/drinks outlets. One of the outlets that I visited was coffee cat which is a very nice coffee shop with an array of a very well priced coffees tea sandwiches etc.
