Best museum ever! Really inspiring. Three floors, going through John Muir's life chronologically. Easy to read panels, photographs, plus some videos. Some interactive displays & a fun quiz. A must see if you love being outdoors, in nature, interested in conservation, & beautiful prose, or history in general. What a man! The museum really captures who he was; & it's free.
Amazing! Loved it. Lots of info on John Muir - the fire places are just awesome
As a child of 11 yrs, he sailed for the Americas, taking 5 weeks for the journey ,quite a brutal father, thankfully his love of nature prevailed to give us his take on nature that we can enjoy today .
We were thrilled to see such a comprehensive exhibit as we are from Martinez, California and share the John Muir legacy. Our dear friend Will Collin and the team at the birthplace have done a wonderful job with both the permanent and rotating exhibits. Well done!!
Very informative and inspiring museum. Yes, it is small but there is lots of information inside! Definitely worth a visit.
