Spectacular walled garden, glasshouses, wild gardens, 15 acres of captivating woodland and burnside walks and spectacular vistas. Outstanding cafe in beautiful courtyard setting.
Had a lovely afternoon here. We had a lovely lunch in the cafe. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. In fact we opted to return for breakfast on another morning. Lunch was followed by a delightful walk around the gardens. We were a large group and the staff were really helpful. The shop is also lovely.
This turned out to be a little gem. Quite extraordinary beautiful. I could have sat next to the pond with the magnificent vistas all day. Also nice cafe for tea and cake and an extremely helpful lady in the shop on site.
Beautiful gardens! A perfect place to see snowdrops! I have never seen so many! It looks like the walled garden will be more interesting in spring and summer, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the visit. A perfect place to find some peace of mind - enjoying the scenic gardens and beautiful plants, listening to the sounds of birds singing and water flowing. The cafe is nice too.
first visit and even for a 90 minute drive well worth a visit and we will be back. Gardens even in March are beautiful, but the courtyard cafe is a real gem. great atmosphere, good food and every member of staff was so friendly, especially the young woman who proves her fire building skills, with the perfect real fire to sit and enjoy coffee in front of. 10 out of 10
Not far from Peebles there is a charming walled garden and arboretum all beautifully maintained. Do allow at least 2 hours. Very calming and tranquil place. Fine stands of meconopsis in May. Historic green house. Altogether a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon. There are toilet in the court yard. There is also a cafe. Booking a table is essential as it gets very busy.
Absolutely love visiting the gardens, always so tranquil and a lovely little walk. Finished off with fantastic lunch in the courtyard cafe, always so friendly and polite, plus the food is always excellent. Choices, choices...had the Reuben style toastie, superb, but will have to return to try the others I was torn between...superb.
