This 45-hectare nature reserve features a mix of woodland, grassland, and wetland habitats, providing a haven for local wildlife. A network of walking trails and footpaths allows visitors to explore the reserve, spotting species such as kingfishers, dragonflies, and butterflies. The park's landscape is dotted with ponds, streams, and a large lake, which attract a variety of waterbirds, including herons, egrets, and grebes.
Small deciduous woodland with paths for walking and an open field for exercise. Beautiful ancient woodland, just a pity about the road noise from A329. A great escape for locals looking for a break from urban life. Street parking around the reserve. Footpaths not wheel chair or buggy friendly in muddy winter months. It takes about an hour to walk around the park with a dog.
Took my puppy to do some recall training today. He was such a good boy and he seems to love the freedom of being able to run freely. Next step is to introduce other dogs/puppies so he can interact and socialise.
This has been an area in which I've walked my dogs over 26 years. Wonderful bluebells in Spring, amongst a woodland walk, a great area for children to explore.
Very small woodland in the middle of a housing estate. No parking and very noisy due to the A329M. It's ideal if you live locally and want to take the dog for a quick walk. Avoid unless you live 2 minutes away.
Was looking for entrance the other day..no sign post's that I could see..today I was walking along near the allotments,it looked like a fence was down so walked in..not very big..certainly colourful walked through into a paddock area which I recognized..but there's no path to walk with the dog safely, so walked back and went out a proper gate to walk on path outside the wooded area.. not sure I would bother again Update...today I went again as I had just been to vets with the dog..he needed a walk..it was actually lovely and cool..saw these I guess tree fungi? The dog had a good mooch about. I walked all around..it was a much better visit!
Lovely spot, is right in the middle of a residential area so no designated parking. Was a lot smaller than I expected but nice for a quick walk with the dog.
