This tranquil natural pool is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Kenfig Nature Reserve. The pool's calm waters reflect the surrounding landscape, creating a sense of serenity and peacefulness. Surrounded by lush vegetation and tall trees, the pool's natural beauty is enhanced by its secluded setting. A popular spot for nature lovers and photographers, the pool's unique charm and picturesque surroundings make it a must-visit destination.
With water levels so low this autumn, I took the opportunity to access normally inaccessible parts of the lake.
Sandy, lovely lake (fishing if you have permission). Horses may be around, beware if you're thinking of letting your dog off the leash
A bird watching hide at the South end of Kenfig Pool. It is free to use all year and can be accessed by parking at Kenfig National Nature Reserve car park. It is a short walk from the car park on a sandy (sometimes muddy) path. People with mobility issues may struggle to get there. It is a pretty basic shed that provides shelter from the wind and rain when looking at the rare bird breeds that visit the lake.
Fantastic hiking and scenery
Very nice place ...but not enough direction poles...more likely to get lost in narrow paths ..worth a visit ...car par at the top...
A wonderful jewel in Gwent so much wildlife you just can't fall in love with the place
Good for kids
