This rustic retreat offers comfortable camping barn accommodation and a campsite amidst picturesque countryside, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers.
Two of us shared the Byre at Kildale Camping Farm. We arrived cold and wet after a 20 mile hike in torrential rain and high winds across the tops of the moors. Carol met us with shopping she'd bought in for us, including 2 beers which were greatly appreciated. The byre had heating! We were able to prepare our dinner in the ensuite kitchenette. We hired sleeping bags at a very reasonable cost and had a warm and toasty sleep on the beds provided. In the morning we dined on poached eggs on toast. Eggs provided by Carol from the farms hens. Delicious! The byre has a fridge, oven, microwave, toaster and kettle. There are two single beds and a double bed. You must either bring you're own sleeping bags or rent them. The showers and toilets are next door and there's also a kettle and microwave there for people who are camping. There's even a tumble dryer! The washroom was very clean as was the byre. We had our own little seating area outside. Although it was much too cold to enjoy it for too long. Overall, a great stay. Thanks to Carol for getting our shopping.
A place I often go. A place that gives me peace. If you want somewhere to forget your troubles and relax from every day life then this is it.
Simply outstanding campsite for active people. Amazing views, enjoyed seeing all of the farm animals and a great base for cycling and walking activities. Very useful kitchenette facility with Kettle and microwave run by great hosts. Possibly the best campsite I have stayed at. Local train, several miles to nearest main village for food shopping etc (Great Ayton).
Beautiful place, we have been there in June. We were glad that we found this place after a long hot day cycling. We were the only campers, it was really silent and piecefull. Facilities: basic but fine! We could buy eggs and beans. And there was a washing line for drying our cycling cloth. It was our best camping this holiday. We liked it very much!
We stayed here whilst walking the Cleveland Way, it's just off route. little campsite and camping barn and hiker friendly. Couple of showers, pot wash. There is also a cloths dryer cost PS1. There is also a kettle and microwave.|We also charged phones up, but make sure you do not unplug the fridge. ||The site also has access to larger tents and camper vans. There are two fields and some picnic benches which are so nice to sort your self out when in a small tent. ||David and Carol very friendly and helpful. ||There is no shop in the campsite, it's a working farm also no shop in Kildale village but a train station, not many trains and no buses. |Nice views from campsite.
Wow, what a gem on our doorstep. Lovely welcoming owners, simple facilities -but everything you'll need for back packing. We'll be back!
