Experience a fantastic farm animal safari from our purpose built 14 seater all weather trailer. You will learn about the machinery and equipment required to look after the land and animals whilst touring the fields and also discover the remains of the old grouse shooting railway line whilst taking in the 360 degree views from the Renfrewshire Heights to Ben Lomond, Glasgow and beyond. There will be plenty opportunities for questions and photos/videos along the way. What other wildlife can you spot - Hen Harrier, Herron, Buzzard, Sparrow Hawk, Brown Hare, Fox, Badger? Lambing experience - get hands on with our ewes & lambs. Watch & learn about sheep husbandry including lambs getting to their feet and hopefully experience a live birth
This was an excellent working farm tour, and we were fortunate to visit during lambing season (early April 2023). It's a fun, engaging, and educational tour. Prepare for the weather and wear appropriate footwear (especially if it's rainy or muddy). The facility is quite small which means the tour isn't as long, but you are able to handle and feed the lambs during the season. I believe they have different activities throughout the year. If you're driving, give yourself plenty of time to arrive early and note that the roads are very narrow and rugged. You need to have reservations and tickets beforehand as space and time are limited.
I wasn't sure what to expect but this was a great experience. We all loved it and my kids were asking when they could return before we'd even left the farm! Wendy was great, friendly and very knowledgeable. The wee lambs were adorable and you can see the animals are well cared for. Definitely worth a visit .
A beautifully kept farm with stunning views. Wendy was fabulous, so informative and welcoming. We will return next year with our daughter who will be 5 which I think is a good age to start from for children. We had an excellent day and of course, the lambs were incredibly cute
Been trying to find a farm tour closer to home for some time, and couldn't be happier finding this hidden gem. Wendy and her family were perfect hosts and very informative about farm life - the pros and cons farmers face, the machinery and I have never seen such happy animals. You get up close and personal to the cows, sheep and horses, as well as learning throughout the tour the history of their family farm and how they've shifted to being carbon neutral. I could not recommend this place enough and can't wait to return for the lambing experience next year. Don't hesitate, book now!
Have taken kids to a few farm visits before, this was by far the best . It's a real working farm and the guide who shows you round is an actual farmer, so really knowledgeable and very good at explaining things to kids and adults too. So it's nothing like a petting farm, it's more informative but also more fun. The kids got loads of time to hold and feed new lambs, which they loved, but also learnt a lot about how the lambs are looked after. It's also a really beautiful spot and easy to get to from M8. Strongly recommend it, brilliant.
Went to the lambing experience yesterday. Wendy showed us around and was very informative. I went with my 2 grown up daughters and we all really enjoyed it. We got to see twin lambs been born , and all had a shot at bottle feeding a lamb and getting a wee cuddle afterwards. It was a chilly day, but afterwards we all got a free hot drink, which was a nice touch. A great day out, well organised and we can't wait to do it again!
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Getting tickets in advance recommended
