This nature reserve in West Sussex features a mix of woodland, grassland, and wetland habitats, providing a haven for a diverse range of wildlife. The reserve's trails take visitors through ancient woodland, where they can spot species such as the lesser spotted woodpecker and the silver-washed fritillary butterfly. The meadows are awash with wildflowers in the summer, including orchids, oxeye daisies, and devil's-bit scabious. The reserve's wetlands attract a variety of birds, including snipe, lapwing, and curlew, while the woodland ponds are home to frogs, toads, and newts. With its rich tapestry of habitats, Kingcombe Meadows is a haven for nature lovers and a vital refuge for the local wildlife.
A beautiful place to walk and sit amongst 600 acres of protected countryside. We saw evidence of Beaver activity! You can buy wildflower plants and there is a cafe nestled amongst the wildlife garden serving delicious food.
Lovely walk in a beautiful area well maintained by the wildlife trust , good information at the centre and tea rooms just thoroughly enjoyed it
