Description

Kirkharle Courtyard is the birthplace of the famous landscape architect Capability Brown, and has a beautiful complex of small art & craft workshops, galleries and retail outlets, housed in charismatic, converted stone barns, including a Coffee House serving home-cooked, fresh baking and lunch delights. Nestled in the stunning Northumberland countryside, and accessed easily just off the A696, it makes a handy break from a journey North to Edinburgh, or South to Newcastle upon Tyne. A tranquil lake walk with fully accessible pathways, a new woodland walk, geocaching, a play area to keep the young children entertained and an historic 14th Century St. Wilfrid's Church means there is something for all the family at Kirkharle Courtyard.

Ate at the running fox restaurant/cafe. Really friendly staff and tasty food. Big portions. Had a look around a couple of the outlets then a lovely walk around the lake. A nice way to spend a couple of hours. The cafe gets busy so they say best to book. Will definitely return.

Went to the Running Fox cafe. Very busy with limited service. Cake and coffee good however. Book ahead if you want a table, but that's a challenge if you're cycling like we were, as you never know exactly when you'll arrive!

A quaint courtyard of craft and art shops and a cafe. Lovely items but very overpriced. The cafe was busy but service was very slow. Food tasty but not much for the price. Would have liked a walk around the lake but sadly the British weather wasn't very accommodating!
