Knap Gardens is a 4-acre botanical garden featuring a variety of plants, including alpines, herbaceous borders, and a large rock garden. The garden's tranquil atmosphere is enhanced by a pond, stream, and surrounding woodland. Visitors can explore the garden's many paths, discovering hidden features and seasonal highlights, such as the vibrant displays of rhododendrons and azaleas in spring.
Nice area to take a stroll, bring your furry friend too as it's got plenty of space for them to roam and explore. Beautiful scenery on the coastline, lots of lovely cafes on the way in.
A lovely park adjacent to a row of coffee shops and close to The Knap (a people back). It has a duck pond which is always busy with swans & ducks plus a relatively new skate park. You can walk through and then continue across Jackson's Bay to Barry Island beach but beware of the tide times or you may get stuck and then have the long roadside walk back! Knap Gardens do not have a playground but Romilly Park which is also close by does.
Visited here for the first time, and it did not disappoint at all. It was such a beautiful place indeed
We had a lovely few hours here. The weather was great. The parking was free. We walked an entire lap around the lake. Loads of places to stop and sit and watch the swans and ducks. There's also a few shops selling drinks, snacks and ice creams. It was a very pleasant afternoon
Nice green flag park in the Knap. Large boating lake, new skate park and gardens. Large free car park nearby, plus cafes and restaurants near the entrance.
Great park for a picnic and a range of nice cafe for those that did not bring their own food and drink. Close to a beach and the remains of a Roman Villa situated behind the lavatories that are on the side of the beach.
