A Victorian-era railroad bridge built in 1850, spanning 46 meters across the River Nith, featuring five arches and constructed from rust-colored sandstone, with a distinctive curved design and a rich history of railway transportation in Scotland.
It's a bridge, it even 'skews'! It's a nice area to stop, stretch, walk around a bit and take some pics. We saw some tugboats hauling some larger ships! It is a beautiful area
Nice place for a small stop. We made some lunch. Some people parked there to go fishing. :-) a bit noisy from the road though
A magnificent piece of engineering in one of the most breathtaking spots on the west coast, built in the early 1980s to take traffic over the treacherous Loch a'Chairn Bhain where a ferry service was the only way to get across , the large car park to the north has plenty of spaces and its an easy walk to get the best views of the curve and of the surrounding jaw dropping scenery ,theres also a small memorial to the RN submariners who trained in the lochs during WW2
Absolutely stunning, my photos don't do this place justice. The water looked so clear and blue, mountains were just amazing
As it's part of the NC500 you just have to stop for a phone opportunity. The views are stunning and well worth the trip.
Nice little stop off to view the bridge. Very scenic.
