A 240-million-year-old volcanic plug, this natural wonder is a prominent landmark in the Scottish Borders, featuring a distinctive rocky outcrop that rises 150 feet above the surrounding countryside, offering breathtaking views of the Tweed Valley.
Lovely place, with a lot fewer visitors as it is away from the commonly used paths of the St Ives walking routes. I would give this place 5 stars, but what is a great shame is the deforestation that has occurred in front of the memorial. Standing in front of it is like looking at one of the destroyed parts of the Amazon.
Lovely circular walk to Lady Blantyre's Rock and back. Started from the free carparking spaces, past Coppice Pond, then up to the Rock and back round via the path parallel to Altar Lane. Lots of trees fallen down over the path through the wood near Lady Blantyre's Rock at the moment.
Lovely walk on winters day.its first time I have sean the lake frozen.you can walk around the lake enjoy the weather and show. There is also a playpark park near by on same site for the children.
Top quality walk during the summer and the place is beautiful
It is a beautiful walk that takes you past Lady Blantyres rock . It was a lovely sunny afternoon when we did the circuit . But even when the weather is wet and cold it is still a lovely walk . One thing I noticed is a definate lack of waste bins as there was a lot of litter blowing around .
Nice place to walk to and have a rest.
