Over 100 species of exotic animals live at this 25-acre park with an on-site cafe and a play area.
A lovely day out. Nice food served at the cafe. Great range of animals to see and learn about. The 'birds of prey' talk was fabulous as were the other talks. And feeding the goats was great fun!
This is a fabulous place for a day out for all the family. There's a variety of animals to see, and to get the most out of this make sure you go to the talks about the specific animals. They're on the hour every hour. The keepers really know their stuff, are happy to talk about the different animals and lure them out with food so you can see them! The birds of prey talks were especially great - we saw an eagle steal the keeper's hat, and felt an owl pass silently just inches from our heads! For the younger children, there's a lovely park area, animal trails and crafts to do. There's a gift shop and cafe, and plenty of picnic areas around the site. If you're near the northern Lake District, this place should definitely be on your list of things to do.
Great wildlife park. You can buy bags of animal food for PS1 and feed a load of animals. Plenty of different animals, plus a great outdoor park, and soft play for kids. Nice stony tracks to walk on. There are talks throughout the day. We attended a bird of prey talk which was great. There's also a shop and cafe there too. Well worth a visit. We'll definitely visit again when in the area
Fair price for entry to the wildlife park. Free car park. Had an absolutely fantastic time feeding the goats, alpacas, donkeys and wild boars. The goats esp go crazy for snacks So many cute & lovely animals to see! There are otters, zebras, pink flamingos, meerkats, lemurs, red panda, wild cat, lynx etc. One of the best highlights of Lake District
Can I put six stars? A brilliant day out. I'm surprised admission is so cheap. A variety of exotic animals. Luckily, I saw everything, as it was sunny. You can even get up close and personal with a lot of them too! Cafe was great for a quick bite. A place definitely not to be missed if staying in the Lakes!
An absolute highlight of our trip to the Lake District. The animals are clearly excellently cared for and the staff we spoke to were so knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed the opportunity to feed some of the animals, such as goats, alpacas and pigs. We were also fortunate enough to meet a baby goat who had been born only that morning! The park itself is well kept, not too hilly or difficult to walk around for families. The cafe provided some welcome refreshment and respite from a brief shower of rain, toilets were clean and parking was plentiful. We also booked the Birds of Prey Experience, which gave us 1:1 time with Richard and some of the birds. We had a wonderful time learning about the birds, their routines and their training, before donning a glove ourselves and having a go at flying and recalling the birds. Richard is clearly very knowledgeable and we had a lovely time chatting to him about his role and the various animals he cares for. It was such an authentic and relaxed experience, it didn't feel rehearsed or staged, so we really got to spend some quality time with the birds and learn more about their personalities. We're both big fans of birds and valued the opportunity to spend time with them in such close proximity. I cannot recommend the experience enough if you're looking for something a bit different to enjoy as a couple.
