Lakeland Farm Visitor Centre at Ings between Windermere and Staveley is an authentic farm visitor experience in The Lake District. Enjoy Daily Livestock Shows, Farm Shop & Butchers and Farm Kitchen
Good farm shop and cafe and it clearly runs educational and food events as well. We were there at 10 for the cafe opening for a breakfast which was a good 9 out of 10.( the shop opens earlier) We had a window seat ( there is also some outside seating) and the view with good food made it pretty idilic.
Nice little shop & the fry up was good. But not 5 stars as they don't allow dogs onto site - now a days everyone and their mums has a dog. Even if you could eat in the outdoor area with them would be better than nothing
Called in on our way home from keswick. I loved it....the cauliflower and cheese soup was delicious and at a very reasonable price. The only down side was that it is a dog free site. I understand that, with it being a farm, but it did mean we had to leave our dog in the campervan....luckily it wasn't a sunny day.
Went for lunch and we had beef ribs and the soup of the day. The food was delicious, and affordable for such a nice restaurant with a fantastic view.
Went with friends for afternoon tea. It was exceptional. Possibly the nicest we have had[ more savoury than seert). I understand it's a working farm, but I do feel it would be good for dogs on leads to be able to sit outside . We will return
Food very expensive for what is served. Meat is probably OK, but cooking and sides not great. Kids meals are very low quality produce. Service needs to be improved also. Shame because we only live along the road.
On-site services
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
