Wet meadows and woodlands with a paw trail for dogs, picnic sites, fishing and a waterside cafe.
A lovely cozy cafe. My daughter and I had a walk around the lake followed by brunch and a gorgeous cake. The food was top notch and the staff lovely and friendly. 100% will be back again. The lake walk is a nice easy walk with ducks and cows in residence to keep the younger ones interested. Highly recommended
Nice local country park with the added bonus of free parking which makes a freshing change from some of the others that charge near on extortionate amounts. No height restrictions so easy to get the motorhome in. Good fair priced cafe and some nice lakeside shorter walks. The little ride on railway is God fun for the kids and worth a trip round the track.
We primarily came to visit this park as the young'un wanted to visit the miniature railway. Firstly I was pleasantly surprised that there is no charge for parking! Bit tight as it was busy, but still a win. The park has a cafe right next to / joined to the railway, some toilets, a playground, the lake itself and conference / meeting area (only know this from looking at the building and wondering why it wasn't open - was semi expecting into be a visitor centre or something...!) There is a small picnic area if you have bought food with you. The paths will take you round the lake - not a massive walk, but pleasant.
I love coming to lakeside for walks, especially at sunset. You get a really nice veiw over the lake where there are ducks, people boat racing and plenty of opportunities for photos. Highly recommend.
Lots of birds (ducks, asian ducks?, seagulls and geese)to see. The walk around the lake is lovely. The area is Pet friendly. You can also enjoy drinks at the cafeteria at the steam train station. There is a small playground on one of the sides of the lake. This is a nice place to have a walk with family on a budget. Definitely coming back any time.
Lovely peaceful park south of Eastleigh. Suitable for lots of walking routes with or without a dog. Or, you can sumoly ride around it on the delightful little Eastleigh Lake Railway. Plenty of parking and refreshments too at weekends and school holidays.
