The Archbishop of Canterbury's residence with 13th-century crypt & chapel, plus a historic library.
Pleasant and tranquil gardens located in the heart of London. Great hospitality on open garden events! Recommended.
The Garden Museum is next to the Palace in an 18c church and courtyard. The clever use of awkward spaces and shared resources is both inventive and invisible. The cafe is delightful, large enough for families with open access to the internal courtyard and kids play area. I went to see a small, paid for art exhibition about making gardens in 'Manor houses' located across southern England. I appreciated the exhibition, the cafe was relaxing, the rest of the museum was both fascinating and rewarding. It probably appeals to an older age profile, maybe caring for the grandchildren and wanting the dual service of adult interest and child provision.
Beautiful gardens that are well maintained throughout. Staff were so lovely and welcoming. There are toilets onsite, not sure how clean or accessible they are as we didn't use them. Would recommend for a day out for a picnic with the children.
The gorgeous garden at Lambeth Palace is open from May until September on the first Friday of each month. Make sure you visit. It's like being behind the scenes at a secret location. If you are lucky the chapel and library might be open. It's such as pretty place to explore and a real pleasure. The Garden Museum is next door which has a very good restaurant.
It seems like Lambeth palace is closed for public and only opens for private events
