Glamping is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the natural charms of some very special corners of the British countryside. It's a new way to visit old favourites or to discover places new. Your Lantern and Larks home from home is a canvas-wrapped three bedroom retreat, and will sleep six in complete comfort. The rural hideaway has solid deck floors throughout a spacious interior, extending to the terrace at the front and a practical porch entrance, shower room and separate WC at the rear.
Supremely quiet and picturesque. No electricity so great for getting off grid. Safari tents are huge! Definitely go for the hot tub. Shame that the welcome package seems to have been discontinued. No sign of the stampbox...yet!
Just packing up having spent a lovely week here with three kids aged 7, 5 and 1. Setting is ideal as they loved spending hours playing in the large meadow in front of the tent while we sat out relaxing and watching. The site itself has beautifully maintained walks and a sweet woods with bonus swings and slide. The coast is just a 40 minute drive away with loads of day trip destinations. The tent itself is clean and well equipped but it's the outdoor space that made this stand out! Honesty shop was a bonus and even had a spot to charge phones.
We had a lovely time staying in the Kingfisher tent. Everything we needed/wanted was on site and kids enjoyed the hot tub and playing cards by candlelight. The honesty shop and having a shelf in the fridge was a good idea. We could chill our milk, butter, bbq food and cider and stock up on charcoal and marshmallows etc in there and being able to charge our phones there was really helpful. ||||Defo worth a visit to White Post Cafe as the food there was yummy and Minehead beach is great for a sandy beach but you can't take dogs on it between May and October.
Another fantastic stay at Kittisford Barton. We are repeat visitors for many years now. We love the beautiful countryside, the woodland walks with our dogs on the private site and so many other things besides. Great for biking too.
We have done a few glamping holidays and this was by far the best so far. The location is blissful and the accommodation perfect. Just enough comfort - access to a fridge in the honesty shop, cool boxes, a shower and flush loo - but no electricity, so no screens for a few days. Our boys loved the freedom to play outside whenever they liked, and we loved the peace.
We had 4 nights at this wonderful place. Welcomed by John who gave us all the info we needed. Wish we had booked longer as on our 4th day we was just getting into the simple but elegant lifestyle this site offers. Only thing these tents need is a little more high candle lighting for the evenings. There is a period where it's tough to do alot as it's getting dark. Will defo be returning in the future, maybe even visiting other lantern and larks sites around the country. Simple rural Elegant living.
