This ancient woodland is a tranquil oasis, with its twisted veteran trees, including oak, beech, and yew, some of which are estimated to be over 1,000 years old. The woodland floor is carpeted with bluebells, wild garlic, and other wildflowers in the spring, and the trees are home to a variety of bird species, including woodpeckers, owls, and nightingales. A network of winding paths and trails allows visitors to explore the woodland, which is said to be haunted by the ghost of a medieval monk.
