Situated in a beautiful part of Lincolnshire in countryside between the Wolds and the coast, Lincolnshire Wolds Railway is only a short distance from Grimsby, the seaside resort of Cleethorpes and the historic market town of Louth. The railway operates on a stretch of line that was once part of the Great Northern route from Boston to Grimsby. We are the only standard gauge heritage steam railway in Lincolnshire. It is very important to us to keep our heritage line running and keeping steam alive, we are living history with a purpose to recreate and preserve railway scenes of the past. We look forward to welcoming you to our friendly railway.
Fantastic place, great pricing and affordable. Volunteers are polite and friendly also helpful. Accessible for disabled users too. Perfect place for kids to enjoy a ride up and down the line on the train and have a spot to eat. Will be back soon.
Had a lovely day out with family and a ride on the steam train. All the volunteers that work at Lincolnshire Wolds Railway were very friendly and helpful and make the day wonderful. I even picked a few things from the gift shop.
Lovely small station and old Signal Box. There is also a small shop and tiny museum runned by some very nice people. We climbed up the Signal Box and had lots of information. We did not take a train but a visit to this place is worth while
Had a lovely day on the railway, only a tenner, a trip on the steam engine, a look around the loco shed,a coffee and a bacon roll, plus pensioner discount, great day, lovely staff, thanks very much.
Great little station, steam trains run on special days. Take cash as machine not working and is a regular thing apparently. Toilets and small buffet car available. Lots of parking and dogs allowed.
What a little gem in. Lincolnshire. We took our son on bank holiday Monday. The staff were so helpful and friendly and it was a beautiful ride on the steam train, which our son absolutely loves. Would defiantly recommend. You buy your tickets and to proper old fashioned ticket window and you get proper old fashioned tickets that the conductor comes around and clips, then you have a memory to take home of the day as a keepsake.
