Island reserve offering trails, sea views & an opportunity to see seals, birds & other wildlife.
Crab sandwiches were readily available and pleasant. Nice views although to access the Abbey, castle etc you have to buy one ticket covering all. Amazing watching the sea come in from the other aide of the causeway
Followed the walk in the leaflet published by the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve. Lovely walk. Met 2 of the staff from LNNR who pointed out seals on the sandbanks to us. We were very fortunate to have beautiful weather. Really loved it!
We love Lindisfarne and visit when we can. Passing by on the A1, we checked tide times and seeing they were good, headed over for a quick walk over the dunes to the beach. Had a beautiful wander over the vast beach at low tide. It's a stunning place. Please help keep it this way!
Gorgeous little island to visit. So many hidden treasures.
Amazing place with a great history. Loads of walking with great views plus the castle, priory, and harbour to see. Entrance to the island is via a causeway that floods at high tide and so access is limited. Check tide times online before visiting!
I had the place almost to myself, I was very lucky. Some absolutely stunning coves, a lovely path to follow through the dunes and across the fields. Wonderful views of the village, castle, churches and across to the mainland. Don't worry if you can't get back across the causeway by the incoming tide, just more time to explore and enjoy yourself!!!!
