This massive waterwheel, located in the Lisburne Metal Mine in the United Kingdom, stands at an impressive 35.6 feet in diameter, making it one of the largest in the country. Built in the 19th century, the wheel's purpose was to power the mine's machinery, but today it serves as a striking example of industrial heritage. Its wooden structure and iron spokes evoke a sense of nostalgia, while its sheer size and functionality inspire awe.
Only the waterwheel remains of Lisburne mine, the waterwheel doesn't look like it works but the watercourse is still flowing. There are a few repurposed buildings that look like they were once part of the mine but they are now in private hands. If you're in the area it's worth a look but there's nothing here that's worth travelling for. There's a church within the Hafod grounds that have the graves of some of the figures linked to the mine. (St Michael and All Angels Church) No tickets are required..
Brilliant piece of history, directly accross the road is a fantastic walk in the Coed Maen Arthur
Very lovely place
