Welcome to Lisvane & Llanishen Reservoirs in Cardiff. Our Visitor Centre has stunning, panoramic views and offers a cafe, restaurant, activities hub and rooms for hire. It is fully accessible and disabled parking spaces can be found just outside. A lift is available to take you up to the cafe should you need it. Our activities hub offers paddle sports for all ages and abilities plus organised open water swimming. Lisvane & Llanishen Reservoirs is also a great place to walk and watch wildlife.
The cafe, conveniently located within the visitor centre, offers a pleasant respite after exploring the reservoir. Free entry to the site and 90 minutes of complimentary parking make it an accessible option. We visited on a busy Saturday lunchtime and while the cafe was lively, we managed to find a table without issue. Our group ordered a variety of dishes, including a chicken club sandwich, sweet potato fries, and a gluten-free fudge cake. The sandwich was generously filled and well worth the PS8 price tag, accompanied by a fresh salad. The sweet potato fries were also a generous portion. Coffee, including oat milk options, was available. While the food was enjoyable, the cafe's acoustics could be improved. The hard surfaces created a somewhat noisy atmosphere, although this did subside as the cafe emptied. Overall, a decent dining experience with good food and convenient location.
Lovely place for a walk and some fresh air. Several different paths to follow (although you will end up overlapping and doing some parts twice, if you choose to walk them all). Clean and well presented cafe and toilets, although the hot food choice was a bit limited for our tastes.
Fabulous large spacious car park free for the first 90 minutes. Huge reservoir with pedestrian path all the way around the lake. Modern casual dining restaurant with plenty of seating inside and on the veranda. Good selection of food including vegetarian options.
Lisvane & Llanishen Reservoirs are a beautiful escape close to Cardiff. The scenery is stunning, with peaceful waters and lush greenery perfect for walks and picnics. The well-maintained paths cater to all fitness levels, making it a great spot for everyone. Birdwatching is fantastic, with plenty of wildlife to see. Informative signs along the trails add to the experience. Facilities are top-notch, including ample parking, clean restrooms, and a cozy cafe for refreshments. Highly recommended
Lovely walk around fairly newly opened reservoir by Welsh Water, PS10 online booking for swimming and paddle boarding. Also open water swimming training. Good cafe area, didn't use but friends and family told me the Sunday lunch is good. 90 minutes free parking, 2.5 miles walk around while complex!
90mins free parking then charge after that. Accessible spaces and charging stations in car park. All flat and accessible and you could spend the day there making it around the reservoir and stopping in the cafe for tea cakes food. Accessible water-sports too. I'm a wheelchair user. Great place.
