A picturesque beach in southwest Wales, Llandanwg Beach boasts a long stretch of golden sand, backed by rolling dunes and a scenic coastal path. The beach is surrounded by lush green hills and offers stunning views of the Gower Peninsula. The calm and clear waters are perfect for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding, while the beach's tranquility makes it an ideal spot for relaxation and sunbathing. At low tide, the beach reveals a vast expanse of sand, ideal for beachcombing and exploring.
I asked a shop owner where the best beach in the area was and she recommended this beach. It didn't disappoint! It's a short walk to the beach from the car park over a sand dune and you will pass a quaint medieval church on the way. The beach is very sandy with some rocks too, and it's quiet with clear water.
Here today at Llandanwg Beach. This beach is dog friendly so you can explore with the pooches. There is a section designated for dogs, as well as a no dog zone. The perfect place to capture a few snaps of the sunset.
Delightful little beach. Good parking (get there before it's busy!) We loved how close the beach was to the carpark and toilets, and the cafe offered a variety of options that were fair priced and staffed by a lovely lady! You can pay by phone for parking and card in the cafe, although they prefer cash and it is much quicker! Perfect beach for paddleboarding, rockpools, snorkelling, and sunbathing.
Lovely quiet sandy beach car park toilets and a cafe nearby
Easier access than Harlech beach so good for those who struggle with the dunes. In the summer it's split in to dog friendly/non dog friendly sections although not strictly followed. Clean bathing water, lots of seaweed and rocks this end though. Toilets in the car park and a handy cafe that serves fresh ice cream, lollies, coffee/tea and light food. Parking is paid in car park but can park along the verge further up the road (it gets incredibly busy during peak holiday season)
The beach is suitable for dogs on one side, The carpark has reasonable charges. There is also a chapel there which is worth visiting.
