Llanidloes Museum and Library are a cultural hub located behind the town hall. Nestled among shelves of books the museum displays reflect the collections as well as the major events and development of Llanidloes during the last three centuries. There are three Victorian themed cases showing a parlour, kitchen and laundry and naturalists study.
The museum is in the library which isn't ideal although it is free. It's not extensive, starts with some interesting local history and is then quite general. I really enjoyed the timber frame exhibition in the old market hall, just down the road. Quite niche. All about timber frame buildings - how they are made and how to find out their age. Interesting and also free.
WRC coming through Llanidloes 2019,Llanidloes is a great town with lots of history in the manufacture of the flannel, plus silver and lead mining and the smelting of both,BrynTail lead mine in well worth a visit.all in all a great place to stay with lots of hotel and b&b's to choose from.
The museum is closed but its website said open til 6pm on Tuesdays. Really disappointed.
