This visitor centre is situated on the shores of Llyn Brenig, a beautiful lake in the heart of the Hiraethog Forest in North Wales. The centre offers stunning views of the lake and surrounding countryside, and features interactive exhibits and displays that showcase the natural and cultural heritage of the area. Visitors can learn about the history and wildlife of the forest, as well as the importance of conservation efforts. The centre also provides information on walking and cycling trails in the area, and offers a café and picnic facilities.
This is a Lovely lake to visit. It has lovely wooded surroundings and is a long walk around the lake. There's picnic benches and a few activities. It's a great trout lake but fairly dear for a day's fishing especially if you hire a boat to use, but you can always fish from the bank. It's also a good pike fishery during winter. Go and explore
Beautiful place to visit. You can just walk around in the woods or alongside the lake, do a long bike trail, or various walking trails. We did a 5 mile walking route which was perfect. The cafe sells reasonably priced food; sausage rolls, soup, paninis, sandwiches, burgers, and the best cheesy chips, which are all really nice. Well worth a visit.
I did the 2 lake loop on my fatbike. Weather was not good but still enjoyed it . Started at brenig visitor centre and finished there , it's a 15 mile loop . Few steepish climbs but nothing major . Visitor centre cafe is excellent, there's bike hire , bike wash , kayak, paddle board and boat hire there too . Osprey nest watch and fishing there too .
Came to do a photshoot. Lovely place with excellent views, even if the weather changed its mind half way though. Only used the toilets at the visitor centre but was very useful
Fabulous place to visit even though we were slightly out of season (march). We were able to hire a power boat and they have lifejackets for dogs, so our little pooch loved patrolling the lake. Lovely walk around. Park for the kids. Amazing to see all the different birds feeding nearby. The cafe does a fabulous coffee and hot chocolate. Only guide dogs allowed in the cafe. I would definitely recommend and would love to return again when all the water activities are open
Came here on a grey day with my rented paddle board and no clue how to use it. Staff were awesome and took the time to get me set up, offered advice and then let me go and figure it out. The lake was busy but it's absolutely massive so it didn't feel crowded at all. Will definitely be back with the family for a day out soon.
