What a fantastic place! We only managed the morning with a visit to the dam and a drive around the reservoir which was breath taking. If you love great scenery and nature then this is for you!
Beautiful drive to this stunning 1970's dam in the heart of our beautiful country. Lovely walks from a gentle stroll to more moderate 5/6 miles so much wildlife... absolutely no mobile signal so download your maps
Great place. Wonderful views and so peaceful. Even though it has been drained at mo.
Beautiful place. Awe inspiring. No entry fee. Good quality catering van serving tea, coffee, bacon sandwiches and snacks (I think it was called ONLY FOOD AND SAUCES). Ice cream van too. Toilet facilities there but a little dirty. Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Only a few visitors there and easy to park. Nice for a walk around the reservoir. Note: our sat nav route took us down some narrow farm roads but plenty of passing places.
Quite a twisty single track road getting there. Finally got the start of the reservoir and parked in the car park. No toilets, no cafe. Rode round the side of the reservoir which was very scenic and picturesque.
Amazing views! Walks and we stayed here overnight in our motorhome
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
