A picturesque reservoir situated in the heart of Pembrokeshire, Wales, surrounded by rolling hills and lush green countryside. The tranquil waters of the reservoir reflect the beauty of the surrounding landscape, creating a serene atmosphere perfect for relaxation and recreation.
We stayed at the campsite in late May and I could not recommend it more. Lake views are beautiful and staff are amazing - paddle boarding got cancelled due to the weather and they gave us a late checkout so we could reschedule it for the morning we left. Pitches are a decent size but very close together so there is not much space near them for children to run around and the playground is fun but quite a walk away for very little children. Facilities are nice and since the campsite is quite small they are not very busy (it is apparently much busier in July/August). Camp shop sells a few essentials but the nearest supermarket is about 20 minutes away. We hired bikes and took them round the lake which I definitely recommend as they have extra BMX trails for older kids. Since there is not much space near pitches, cars have to be parked in a car park which is about a 5 minute walk away unless you are loading/unloading. Overall, a lovely campsite with great scenery nearby.
Beautiful place to visit. Very peaceful place and good for picnics, walks, mountain biking. Prices for hiring bikes are very high. Nice cafe inside with washroom facilities. Very well looked after and excellent customer service. Parking charges are reasonable
We were staying at the llys-y-fran campsite, barely 5 minutes down the road and thought we would pop to see the lake... Well, we ended up staying the whole day! And what a incredible day it was!! The views and place itself was absolutely breathtaking, the pictures couldn't even do it justice. There was a lovely little cafe and gift shop, clean facilities and plenty of spaces to sit in or outside. There is so much to do there as well and a wonderful play park for children if you don't want to spend a penny
Beautiful reservoir and dam. Plenty of things for everyone to do. Children's playground, dog agility area, cafe restaurant. Walk or cycle around the water. Water sports available. Up to an hour free parking, thereafter PS3 all day.
While the site is brilliant, the staff deserve the 5* by themselves. The centre staff were great (and bilingual) with our young children and made us all feel very welcome. The cafe staff not only took the time to work through some complex dietary requirements with us, but did so cheerfully and came back to us proactively to make sure we had all our options. Food was also delicious and quick to arrive!
Great for walks and cycling. Also has a number of water and land activities. There is also a cafe which is great for a bite to eat. The toilets were clean. Activities: - Adventure Playground - Archery - Axe-Throwing - Bringing your own watercraft - Climbing Wall - Connect With Nature - Crazi Bugz - Cycling - Dog Agility Area - Fishing - Kayaks & Canoes - Land Adventures - Learn-To-Paddle Courses - Open Water Swimming - Pump Skills Track - Stand Up Paddle Boards - Walking
