Fabulous boat trip to the Island and back. The Island and Castle are well worth visiting. Famous for keeping Mary Queen of Scots prisoner for over a year. . There are toilets on the Island. Flush but no running water for hand wash. They are clean and tidy. Boat holds 12 passengers and run every 45 mins.. weather permitting. Book in advance. No cafe or takeaway. So take a picnic. ..A very nice day out for PS10. .
Excellent way to spend a few hrs. Very interesting historical castle. Nice wee trip in the boat across. PS10 per person so not bad . Definitely recommend a visit especially on a nice sunny day
Really is a remarkable place. Took a long time to walk the 11.5 miles around the loch but it was worth it on a perfect day. Paths are good but watch out for some cyclists that go a bit fast. Dogs on leads to be safe.
Toilets are only open between April and October at this location. The path around the Loch is generally good although can be very wet in places. Very varied scenery on the route from views over the Loch to fairly dense woodland. Various benches dotted along the path as well as bird watching hides.
Great, easy cycle., even for a 5 year old. Well kept bird hides and stunning views all around
Lovely park and amazing views. Well worth the visit. My dogs loved it
