About Something exciting is happening in the woodland around Luss, on the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond. A magical faerie trail with wee wooden houses and a mystery to solve!
I visited the trail with my husband and our 7 year old daughter in the school holidays. We aren't from round the area so we didn't know what to expect. We arrived and were welcomed by a lovely member of staff who talked us through everything we needed to know. Our daughter purchased some fairy dust which was a lovely extra and we set off on our way. The trail had been well thought out . You can tell a lot of effort has gone into it! The route was well sign posted too. We all thoroughly enjoyed the trail. Lots of lovely little touches a long the way. A really lovely experience for all ages. The animals at the end were also a lovely little extra. We would recommend!! We hope to back in the future!
This isn't just for children, boyfriend and I went and had a lot of fun following the trail and filling in the booklet. Went here to break up a journey from Fort William to Carlisle as something a little different; it took is around 1 hour 10 to get round. Trail not challenging so doesn't distract from the fun. Fairy houses are beautiful and more then enough sculptures and hidden treasurest to keep it fun and interactive. Would recommend for any ages.
As a resident in these 'ere parts I was unaware that Faerie's were sharing my patch. Imagine my surprise when my two grand daughters found a trail with Faerie dust sprinkled upon it!! The adventure started .... yours, Mr Crocodile. On a serious note, it was a nice surprise and is recommended. As a resident entry fee was reduced. Take strong footwear or wellies. Read the accompanying book for clues for the competition. It is dirt track thrugh the woods and close to water that in places is rough, steep and contains big steps. In all about 1mile and an hours worth of magic. Don't forget to pay for parking as the parking Ogres are sharp on collecting lots of gold for their crocks!!
Lovely Trail, my daughter was quite disappionted to to come across any faeries, I think they were just all in their summer holidays ;-)
Pleasantly surprised having read previous reviews. My 2 year old loved it and we thought it was good value for money and lots of time/effort and resources have gone into it.
This walk is absolutely stunning. The woodland scenery is just beautiful and the trail is really well done. We absolutely loved it and the stations are close enough that the kids don't lose interest in the narrative. One of the best trails we've been on as a family.
