This reserve protects a variety of habitats, including wetlands, grasslands, and woodland, which support a wide range of wildlife, including otters, water voles, and birds such as ospreys and golden eagles. The reserve's diverse landscape also features the River Endrick, which flows into Loch Lomond, and several small lochs and pools. Visitors can explore the area through several trails, including a wheelchair-accessible path, and enjoy scenic views of the surrounding countryside.
The photo you see is not a mirage, and not another country, hard to believe but this is Scotland! A secluded shingle beach with water you can bathe in, to 25 metres out, as shoals of fish swim around you in warm crystal clear water. What a find! Accessed from the Loch Lomond RSPB nature reserve this was one of the best family experiences I've had with my daughters, they were safe, happy and made memories at the same time. I joked, it could be St Lucia, the Maldives, the experience was a little surreal. But how nature loves to surprise! Thoroughly recommended. (Albeit weather like this not guaranteed)
A great reserve to visit It was a bit rainy at times when we went , but it didnt spoil it at all. Scenery is fantastic whenever the weather The pathway is tarmac so it makes the walk easy A few benches and picnic tables which are great The good folks looking after the reserve are friendly and welcoming You can park in 2 x carparks Also a map is provided, although the paths are well marked out Great photo opportunities
A beautiful place of nature. You can park in the RSPB car park for a small charge. You can walk your dog on the lead. Took us about 30 minutes to walk to the Loch, well worth the visit.
One of the serene and breathtaking landscapes in Scotland. Experience it with your friends and family.
