Loch Lomond National Park Memorial is a stunning tribute to the natural beauty of Scotland's first national park. The memorial is situated on the shores of Loch Lomond, the largest freshwater lake in Scotland, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and water. The park itself is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including red deer, golden eagles, and otters. Visitors can explore the park's many trails, including the West Highland Way, which takes hikers through some of the most spectacular scenery in the country. The memorial is a fitting tribute to this incredible natural wonder, and a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the beauty of Scotland's great outdoors.
The second leg of our journey, from Drymen to Rowardennan, was a slightly longer 23 km hike, but the views of Loch Lomond were simply breathtaking. We were able to take a refreshing dip in the clear waters of the loch, which was a highlight of the trip.
Really lovely flat walk along the water edge. Lots of parking at a sensible price and public toilets (relatively clean). Highly recommended for a nice day out.
The memorial is quite something (Stargate-esque) but I'm here to recommend you also walk up the road a bit to the Hidden History walk starting at the Ardess Lodge - great short walk, varied landscape, lots of insights.
A tranquil place for the heroes
Kamienista plaza woda naprawde zimna ale krajobrazy jak z bajki. Wystarczy przejsc kawalek drogi za parkingiem i znajdziecie sie na kameralnej plazy. Polecam jako nagrode po zejsciu z Ben Lomond
