This serene garden is a tranquil oasis in the heart of Lockerbie, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Dedicated to the victims of the 1988 Lockerbie bombing, the garden features beautifully manicured lawns, vibrant flowerbeds, and mature trees. A striking memorial wall bears the names of those who lost their lives in the tragedy, while a poignant statue, 'Somewhere in the Sky', adds to the sense of contemplation and remembrance. The garden's peaceful atmosphere invites visitors to reflect and pay their respects.
Just paided my respect to all last on PAN AM 103 1998 very peaceful
My father was a fire fighter and was one of the first attendees to this terrible terrorist attack. The Memorial is a nice peaceful place. Where we can pay respect to some of the innocent people killed in this awfull atrocitie.
A beautiful memorial garden to remember the local victims. Noted as the crash site. Visit the cemetery for the commemoration and remembrance garden for the victims on the flight and local. RIP Lockerbie
Absolutely pathetic. I really hope this wasn't a great expense of the tax payers. It's a bench right at the edge of a shrub border, beside a rock in the middle of grass. You either have to walk through mulch or wet grass to get to the bench and memorial boulder, there's no stone path. It's hugely unimpressive, especially for the tragedy it's supposed to signify. It's not even peaceful, all you can hear are lorries and fast cars on the busy road behind the bushes.
Please note that this is not the main memorial to Pan AM 103, but a tribute to those that lose their lives on the ground. It is located behind some well kept hedges and there is a bench to sit and reflect. Be aware it can get very wet and muddy on a rainy day, so please take care when visiting, and respect the residents of the area as well. Lovely little memorial to view. Rest in peace to all victims
Very low key memorial in remembrance of those local victims as a result of the 1988 Lockerbie air disaster. Also be sure to visit the Garden of Remembrance a short distance away across A74. We stopped by to pay our respects and were puzzled because there are two memorials. I believe the the Gardens of Remembrance commemorate the victims in the plane and this small rock memorial in the neighborhood might commemorate the casualties from the town.
