Powerful falls with several drops over huge rocks, reached by a short path through a wooded valley.
I have posted this to help people get to the waterfall. It's not easy and it'll take you about 20-30 minutes but trust me it'll be worth it. Best time to go is after heavy rainfall. Start at the Car Park: Once you've parked, head past the car park and turn right. Look for the Gate: You'll see a gate on your right (refer to pic 1). Follow the Path: Continue along the path (see pic 2). You'll need to navigate over a small fallen tree, but keep going. Cross the Stream: Eventually, you'll come to a fork in the stream (see pic 3). Cross it carefully. Follow the Boundary Wall: After crossing the stream, you'll find yourself against the boundary perimeter wall of the hotel. Keep following this wall. Pass the Tree Stump: You'll pass a tree stump shaped like a chair. Shortly after, you'll see a gate that provides access to the hotel. Take a Left: At this gate, take a left (see pic 4). Follow the Sound: From here, just follow the sound of the waterfall and enjoy the serene beauty of Lodore Falls!
Stunning. Quite easy woodland walk to access. Local hotel and restaurant Mary mount hotel is a lovely place to stop for lunch
A lovely waterfall a short walk through the woods off the main road. I went after a morning of heavy rain and the falls were very full and gorgeous. The walk was also nice. I got there via the bus from Keswick and got a bit turned around from the map which said to go through the spa but that's private. To get to the falls from the spa/bus stop, go back along the road across the bridge (no footpath) until you reach the edge of the trees near a gate. There's a sign post, take the unmarked route up through the trees and you'll soon hear the falls. Video attached. A nice short trip, easy to reach from Keswick.
Charming Hotel with an excellent Spa. Tip:Don't book the single occupancy rooms, the views are depressing. I tried both the Asian fusion restaurant Misu, which was decent (7/10), and the Brasserie (8/10). The waterfall behind the hotel is amazing! Nice furniture and decor inside the hotel. The heated pool at the spa is excellent. Staff are well trained and were friendly, happy and helpful. Surprised it's not a 5* hotel. It's just won best spa destination at the Good Spa Awards, and I can see why. I will definitely book again, just not the single room due to the views.
Spectacular waterfalls. Best viewed after heavy rain fall. Relatively easy walks through the woods to reach them. Parked on the NT carpark at Kettlewell. A bit pricey at PS5 for 2 hours but that's the NT for you.
Expected a big waterfall. It's made up of small waterfalls joined up. Still worth a visit.
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
