We subscribed to the annual joint membership this year and have visited all the gardens. We were fortunate to have an absolutely beautiful, sunny day which just made the gardens shine more. My 2 year old son loved all the wee bridges, the fish and the peppermint slice from the cafe. Stepping out into somewhere that didn't seem like Scotland. The hydrangeas were in full bloom and absolutely stunning.
A beautiful garden. The collection is unlike other RBGE sites and well worth the drive. So many lovely flowers were in bloom when we visited in July. We particularly enjoyed the Walled Garden. The climate is so mild. Remarkable. The Potting Shed Cafe is excellent too.
Gorgeous plants and trees. If you're a plants/gardens person you'll love it. Probably also nice to walk/explore around with a small child. Nice cafe and gift shop. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Pros Very well organised, not too big, can easily walk around the whole garden within a couple hours. Many different types of flora from pretty much all over the world due to the microclimate. Easy to navigate with map. Suitable for all ages. Wheelchair accesible as well. Picnic benches for lunch as well. Cons None. Overall Amazing botanic garden, with lots of information and very well maintained and structured, a must visit.
Stunning Botanic Gardens at the South West tip of Scotland. Instantly taken back to recent trip to New Zealand with the entrance driveway lined with palms. Specimen Camellias, Magnolias, Rhododendrons. A magnificent Gunnera bog and Tree Ferns & Palms. A woodland walk followed by a seat in the Victorian conservatory and lunch at the potting shed cafe. A lovely Botanics gift shop and plant sakes on the way back to the car park. As good a garden visit as I've had anywhere in the world.
Beautiful tropical gardens. Unfortunately can't take dogs in garden or the cafe but you can get a takeaway. Also Logan house gardens can easily be accessed from car park which do allow dogs if you are taking it in turns. Only PS4 and also worth a visit
