Longham Lakes, located close to the idyllic town of Ferndown in Dorset, offers a fantastic day out for all. The site boasts a comprehensive bird list of over 147 species and offers a tranquil retreat with scenic footpaths providing breath-taking views of both lakes. In summer the lakes are surrounded by rushes and reeds with wild flowers in abundance, providing ample photo opportunities. Whist lake one is specifically for fishing, lake two is used by local clubs for canoeing, model yachts and model planes. The car park is currently for authorised users and 'Friends of Longham Lakes' only however all are welcome to enjoy a walk at this beautiful location.
Lovely place.Very quite and clean, suitable for long walks, families, people with dogs and anglers. During our visit there, we spotted lots of beautiful birds. Cons: no public car park available. cycling is not permitted.
