The Lovell Tree Collection is a stunning arboretum featuring over 1,500 trees from around the world, including many rare and champion species. The collection is set amidst beautifully landscaped gardens, with winding paths, tranquil ponds, and vibrant flowerbeds. Visitors can explore the grounds, attend guided tours, and participate in educational workshops to learn about the unique characteristics and conservation efforts surrounding these incredible trees.
Really really disappointing. Seems neglected and uncared for. For an arboretum there was very little information, nothing on what trees were there, no signage, large areas overgrown by brambles, dead trees, the bee hives had been completely abandoned and were overgrown. It was rather sad really.
Great place for a little walk, was muddy and wet when we went after rain the previous day so I think good footwear is essential even if it was wet the day before. The pub near by is great and you can get a coffee from there too. It says PS2.50 but it's an honesty box so you can post more or less or even donate afterwards if you have no cash on you. Children's play area would open it up more to families with children.
Interesting collection of Mallus and Sorbus in addition to various other species on part of the University of Manchester grounds at Jodrell Bank.
Shocking,... neglected,... used to be so pristine...intervention needed urgently
