The site is home to a range of rare and endangered species, including the chalkhill blue butterfly, the Duke of Burgundy fritillary, and the nightingale. The reserve's grasslands are also notable for their vibrant displays of wildflowers, including orchids, gentians, and wild roses. Attractive area of chalk downland with lovely views along rolling hillsides. More visible urban development and not as many orchids as at some of the nearby downs, but the late spring buttercups were plentiful. Free parking at the George and Dragon parking lot in Temple Ewell. A pleasant place to walk for an hour or so, just a few minutes drive from Dover.
