We offer the chance to get up close and have a fully immersive experience with our alpacas and our sheep. You can choose a guided trek walking with your very own alpaca (sorry, no sheep!), a stay on farm animal encounter or a Picnic with the Pacas. Being directly opposite the National Trust site for Lydford Gorge (Waterfall entrance) our location offers you the chance to easily visit this beauty spot after your alpaca experience. A trip down to see the Whitelady Waterfall, the Tunnels Falls and the Devils Cauldron shouldn't be missed. Or just pop into their tea shop for a Devon cream tea to rest up your alpaca walking legs! We might be rural but we are completely accessible to all as the Dartline 118 bus service stops right at our door.
Fantastic morning with Helen and her alpacas. Friendly alpacas all with great personalities, lovingly cared for, alpacas seemed to enjoy the trek as much as the customers! Relaxing gentle walk on Dartmoor. With a stop midway to give your alpaca a treat! Will definitely book again.
I was lucky enough to be treated to an alpaca encounter today and it was honestly the best way to spend a morning. Helen was knowledgeable and very welcoming, we probably could have sat in the field and chatted for hours. The boys are all so kind and very well trained (it's hard to pick a favourite), they will bring you so much peace and joy. I spent the whole time smiling. Already looking at when we can book again. A perfect day out for any animal lover
If you love animals and being up close with them then Lydford Alpacas is the place for you! This motley crew of Alpacas live in a beautiful spot on the edge of Dartmoor and allow their 'Mum', Helen, to let humans into their world for a few hours. Now any animal lover knows that they all have their own personalities and Alpacas are certainly no exception! Having been introduced to the various characters and backgrounds we shortly set off for a lovely steady walk on the moor. Helen's obvious expertise and confidence with the animals made the whole experience very relaxing and fulfilling. She is devoted to the welfare of these beautiful creatures and this is reflected with her deep knowledge and understanding of the Alpaca. Highly recommended....and the Lydford Gorge NT cafe is over the road for cream tea afterwards!
Me and my husband enjoyed soooo much this amazing and unique experience, totally recommend this, I would give 10k stars review if I could I felt so calm and such a warm feeling of joy took over me. Helen is so knowledgeable and she did a great job in sharing with us some interesting facts/stories about her Alpaca's gang. Also, before starting the long beautiful walk through the gorge with our own Alpaca, Helen ensured that we are all prepared and know all the tips and tricks in how to handle them properly with the leash. - For anyone looking to do this, get your Wellies ready, you'll thank me later. - You can park in the massive Car Park just cross the road, National Trust Lydford Gorge and see the amazing White Lady Fall, after your Alpaca experience. Thank you so much Helen, we are looking forward to seeing you and the fluffy boys again
Booked this as a surprise for our granddaughter. What an amazing experience. Helen our host was very supportive, informative and helpful. The alpacas were such a joy and we were so close to them. Our granddaughter hugged a baby alpaca. We fed the alpacas and touched their fur. One fell asleep whilst being fed. Well worth every penny. Thank you Helen, what a privilege to meet your lovely alpacas. Lovely memories to make.
We visited Helen & her lovely Alpacas/sheep as part of the Alpaca experience and we weren't disappointed, this was the last stop off for us & it was one of the best. Helen was so friendly & welcoming and we enjoyed feeding & giving the alpacas a foot bath. We would highly recommend this experience & would love to do the Alpaca walk next time we're down. Thank you Helen & all the friendly animals.
