Lymm Village is a charming Cheshire village surrounded by picturesque countryside, boasting a rich history dating back to the 12th century. The village is filled with beautifully preserved medieval architecture, including the stunning St Mary's Church, which features an impressive tower and striking stained-glass windows. Visitors can stroll along the tranquil Lymm Dam, a popular spot for walkers and nature lovers, and explore the village's many historic buildings, including the 17th-century Lymm Hall. The village is also home to a range of independent shops, cafes, and restaurants, offering a unique and relaxing day out.
Beautiful village outside Manchester. 20 minutes drive. A little village that has dams, canals, little communal areas with streets full of flowers. There is small walk through the woods from the dam to the village centre. It is so so good. Beautiful canals and side walks. Explore the place with friends and family. Went on a weekend and the place was quiet and calm. Relaxing. Must go if you live near to Manchester.
Lymm Village have nice Lymm dam and canal across village. All year here is something interesting. Veterans cars shows, boats on the canal, steam engines....duck race. Nice small shops and restaurants. Walk around church and dam down to village all year is good, specially autumn with full of colours...
Lovely village with independent shops and cafe Lovely 3k walk around Lymm Dam
Amazing village in the heart og Cheshire with everything you need for a very pleasant visit! Real ale, several pubs, chippy, bakery, fine walks on canal or Trans Pennine Trail and or further afield.
It's one of my favourite places 20 mins in the car. A walk around the damm and a lovely coffee after.
Lymm village is a lovely place, very "old world" in style. There are number of excellent eating and drinking establishments. However, nice as it is, our 2nd overnight visit was spoiled by a small group of youths who decided to board our canal boat and rock it to the point that everything fell over in the bathrooms. This happened at midnight and woke us up. Annoyingly, but perhaps a good thing, I was unable to locate the culprits but I did report it to the police who appeared uninterested. With a heightened sensitivity, we were woken three more times by loud voices of small groups passing by on the road. Despite this incident, it would not prevent me visiting again but I might consider mooring in a different location.
