This 12th-century round tower stands 62 feet tall, its stone walls bearing the scars of time and weather. The adjacent church, now in ruins, dates back to the 13th century. The site is said to be associated with St Donard, an Irish saint who lived in the 7th century. The tower's entrance, about 10 feet above ground level, is reached by a ladder, and its narrow windows offer glimpses of the surrounding countryside.

The church grounds consist of the both the newer church and graveyard plus the ruins of the older church and graveyard. Both graveyards are immaculately maintained and considerable time and effort has been put in to restore the old graveyard grounds which was wildly overgrown not so many years ago. Well worth a visit if you are in the area and want to enjoy some peace and solitude.
