This 16th-century thatched cottage is a rare surviving example of a medieval house in England. It features a timber-framed construction, with a steeply pitched roof and a large central chimney. The cottage's interior boasts exposed beams, wooden floors, and a large inglenook fireplace. The building's rustic charm is enhanced by its picturesque setting, surrounded by lush greenery and a babbling brook.
What amazing views, very dramatic coast line today 1st Jan 2022, overcast which leads to a fantastic atmosphere. It was great to rest at the little cottage and watch the seals playing down in the cove. Also very sheltered from the winds. The path was quite wet, muddy and slippy in places due to all the rain we have had lately but amazing all the same.
What a lovely little b&b, beds a little firm and the heating could have been turned up a little but made up for by the view
Very picturesque spot for a rest or a picnic, especially in the . Overlooking Carne and Pendower beaches .
Lovely cottage, a bit windy. Great view!
Not much left of the cottage. Still, it's a good spot for a picnic and to mull over the story of fisherman Mallet.
Sited next to a small waterfall and stream. Hard to understand what this building was, there is a chimney on one wall but the other three walls are capped off with concrete so it didn't have a roof, no signs of doors ever fitted though there are holes where joists were so did it only have a platform. The inside walls have no sign of stairs ever being attached either.
