Mallyan Spout Waterfall is a picturesque waterfall located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, North Yorkshire, England. The waterfall drops approximately 60 feet from a limestone cliff, creating a misty veil that surrounds the area. The water flows from Mallyan Beck, a small stream that originates from the surrounding moorland, and cascades down the rocky face, creating a beautiful display of natural power. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and moss-covered rocks, adding to its serene and peaceful atmosphere.
Really nice round trip . Parked outside Mallyan spout hotel free walked down towards waterfall but found it unsuitable to take the dogs as very dangerous for them .we have 2 labs one is 13 and thought far too dangerous for him didn't want any broken legs which was unfortunate for husband as he stood and waited whilst I went to see the waterfall which was a nice view then I walked back and we followed a path that took you on a circular walk which bought you out at Goathland then back to the car .
Beautiful walk and waterfall. We walked from the motel to the waterfall then out the other way returning at the car park. The final bit of the 'walk' to the waterfall is basically climbing over or scrambling over large boulders which was hard for us let alone our labrador, so one of us stood with her and we took turns.
Waterfall path starts right hand side next to the hotel, just near the cafe. It's about a 30 minute trek down a rather steep hill. As you go along there are some big rocks you have to get over so wear good footwear! But worth the trip. For parking we parked at Goathland car park which was PS4 for all day (10 minute walk to the hotel).
Started at the side of the Mallyan Spout Hotel. Walked down a steep dirt trail, then over some uneven ground/stones. Definitely wear appropriate footwear as very muddy and wet as expected on the side of the river.. Then retraced our steps and took the circular walk to Beck Hole and Goathland station.
Just over 1/2 mile walk downhill on loose track steep down hill in places, rock hopping when you get close, slippery when wet, not so good for limited mobility Free to view worth the effort
Not the biggest of waterfalls, but a lovely setting. Some rock scrambling to get there. Very peaceful. Quite a hike downhill and backup to get there. Good thing there's a pub at the top
