Stately 11th-century castle known for its commanding turrets, sweeping sea views & gardens.
Absolutely beautiful place. The castle is in great condition and the gardens are lovely and well tendered. Nice little tea room on site. Definitely worth a visit. Gorgeous beach just at the bottom of the path extra bonus
We just wanted to share our amazing experience at Manorbier castle on the 08/06/24. We booked our wedding here at least 18 months in advance & we couldn't have been more thrilled to have chosen such a perfect destination to get wed! We want to say the biggest thank you ever to our wedding coordinator (Debbie Lunt) who has been there for us from day one of booking the wedding! Throughout the 18 months she had checked in with us regularly to ensure our wedding planning was going smoothly & ensure suppliers were all booked in time. We had built such a good rapport with Debbie through her continuous support & making everything just so perfect for our big day! Even on the day when things hadn't gone to plan with our suits, she maintained such a calming persona & went out of her way to ensure everything was sorted in time! We can't thank you enough for all your efforts in making our day so perfect! Your work ethic, communication skills & personality combined are just so perfect for your role, you really are amazing @ what you do. The castle was beautifully maintained & really set the tone with all the flowers & gardening that had taken place previously. We had so many compliments on the scenery & the calm tone it set. All the staff @ the castle during the weekend were pleasant & welcoming. We had the best 3 day stay at the castle grounds over the duration of our wedding. I'd like to point out we were also offered into the castle free of charge a good few times prior to our wedding date to show family around etc. which was very generous of the staff here. All round 5 star review. Absolutely stunning destination! We would highly recommend a wedding here, overnight stay or even a day visit!
Manorbier Castle is a fantastic destination for families! The castle itself is beautiful and steeped in history, making for an interesting visit. Its location right next to the beach is perfect, allowing the kids to play and explore the shore. There's a small shop on-site where you can buy snacks and ice cream, which is a great touch. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend it for a day out with the family!
PS6.50 entry which was brilliant. Massive castle and you can walk around all the towers. Preferably wear shoes/trainers which is signed before you go up the towers because the steps are tiny and quite steep in the towers (I went in flip-flops but took them off). Amazing views, really beautiful place to visit. Cafe/shop and ice cream on site. Spent a good couple of hours here without sitting down for a drink. I've been to quite a few castles and this is the most authentic one I've seen - not a lot has been changed or updated at all which is really interesting to see actually how it might have been.
Beautiful setting. Remarkable Castle. Worth the steep and narrow steps to the tower for great views. Well worth admission price.
Lovely old castle. Nice tea room inside.
On-site services
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
