A tranquil freshwater lake surrounded by lush greenery and walking trails, offering picturesque views, serene atmosphere, and opportunities for boating, fishing, and relaxation.
Lovely lake for watersports, there was a sailing club when I visited. The walk around the lake was popular, with couples, families, and dogs, as well as the long promenade. Free parking on the road but difficult to find a space on a lovely evening. Lots of disabled parking spaces. Great place for a sunset, but sadly, not the day I visited ....
Great place for a cycle or walk, about 1 and a half hours for the latter. If you do plan on walking around, just make sure you know the tide as so many people managed to time it wrong and have to be escorted/ rescued by the RNLI and that would be very embarrassing and a waste of their time.
Lovely walk around the perimeter of west Kirby boating lake. Amazing views of Wales, Hilbre island and some of the Wirral coast. What's not to like. The newly built promenade adds to the experience.
Such a lovely walk around the lake with our dog Teddy
A very loved and familiar place over the years. It's had a radical makeover in the form of a sea defence wall. Whilst it has changed the face of the front it has provided much seating and is a very pleasing shape and design, though with less access points to the walkway for obvious reasons. The only negative is the slight sloping camber on the pathway which is quite hard for anyone with a walker to use.
The new front is nice although blocks the view when parked. The picture looks like tiny people walking on the wall. Plenty of seats available now on the wall with great views over the lake, River Dee and Wales.
