We have used this field for over 40 years without any issues. We are responsible pet owners who pick up our pet waste and dispose of it in bin provided along cycle path or take it home. We don't use field when sports days or occasional rugby match is on, but as most of time unused by rugby club we play rounders/cricket/football/kite flying/frisbie and exercise dogs! Rugby club are council tenants for 25 year lease and currently have 12 years left on that lease! The green metal container was supposed to be temporary and a resident was attacked an dragged behind it, yet it's an eyesore we have to look at everyday! The written agreement dated in 2007 stated the club would maintain the field Including strip of grass land between there railings and the backs of houses from 102 down to 138 Marksbury Road. They have left this untouched for the 13 years, so overgrown grass/brambles/stingers/bind weed/flytipping and lovely habitat for the rats. Parks department are sympathetic but reply it rugby clubs responsibility! Dog walkers cannot see the dog poo so leave it in long grass, which can spread diseases, smells and causes a fly problem! If rugby followed their tenancy agreement an cut it down even if only twice a year on this strip of land, the residents would happily use it! They cut their pitches at least 3 times during lockdown! The two men and a woman from the rugby club who keep threatening dog walkers, Stop doing so. Your idle threats to call dog warden, the police or council. We are ready to stand together over the exercising of our dogs! Dogs can easily get through and under railings, whole section missing behind green container and no restriction on your side for houses that adjoin you, it's just scaffold poles! This field has been used more by families with dogs during Covid 19 lockdown and some great friendships have been formed. It's been a lifeline and one friendship formed for life by me talking someone out of suicide. I use this field everyday and it's been used more in last 4 months by the public than in 13 years club have leased it! It should of been a school which was already named St John's Lane school on plans, but Broad plain won!!! Stay safe and well everyone, please pick up after your dog and don't be intimadated by the Broad plain 3 staff/volunteers yelling at you!
I often cycle through this park on my way into Bristol, it lovely green space with a kids play area, a basketball court and a few other things to do. In the Summer time I like to pick blackberries there and sit by the little stream that flows through the park.

Good for kids
Playground
