Very fabulous old fashioned bridge, located in Matlock, Derbyshire Dales, Derbyshire. :)
Lovely place to visit, nice scenery, lovely mix of both old and new shops
Very beautiful scenery and nice restaurants nearby.
The Derwent Bridge, north west of Matlocktown centre, carries the A6 Carlisle to Luton road across the River Derwent at the western end of the Matlock bypass. The River Derwent is 66 miles long and full of history- this river was once highly important to the Industrial Revolution. Going between Matlock and Derby, it provided the power for the first ever cotton mill, Richard Arkwright's mill in Cromford. Matlock Bath is in the middle of the rivers path and so now is enjoyed by many people who walk through the famous Spa Town.
Nice walk along the river with an ice-cream or chips watching the canoes and pedalos, lots of little shops to visit, a plant based cafe, toilets at a cost of 20p. Make sure you go early as car parks fill up fast and traffic wardens are like vultures if your parking in the bays on the road
Great morning out watching the Matlock Raft race
