Had the most wonderful evening with the animals and very educational at the petting part. Took a group of Rainbows and Brownies and they absolutely loved every second. It's a beautiful place with lots of animals to see and some four legged ones to feed if you are brave enough. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and we would definitely recommend a visit. Thank you so for looking after us so well.

We had the best time here with 2 toddlers and one 6yo. The term time weekday deal is great and everything is reasonably priced. We agreed the animals all seem happier here than similar places we've been. My daughter had her first pony ride and they were accommodating by allowing me to walk next to her. No wait for the pony ride when we were there and the staff were friendly The ponies seemed happy and well cared-for, and they don't strap your kid in so they won't develop any bad habits if you're just starting out and intend to put them in lessons later :) There's a nice indoor play area that at least theoretically shouldn't get too busy because it's limited by those who can get a table, and there's another great looking sheltered play area with pulleys. We happily spent 5 hours here and would easily come back once a week. Really happy and can't wait to get back next time we're visiting!

Amazing place , perfect for the kids or animal lovers alike , loads of different animals to see , I went during the Highland games , a competition was on show with log tossing and stone throwing, they even had a tractor pull , lots of shops n lots of food , all set on well pathed rolling hillsides

The Matlock Farm Park was pretty much the first activity we did when we got to England on Holiday and it for sure set a standard in a lot of ways. While I know there are bigger places with more animals out there, this is perfectly sized to really be able to enjoy a few hours without spending a whole day trying to make sure you see and do it all. We went during the week knowing that it would be quieter and not all activities were going on and it was perfect for us. We met so many awesome people, some were staff and some were just other people there that wanted to chat and visit with us. There was a young man who took my daughter on a walk about with a sheep and then since there was no one else waiting he kind of became our personal tour guide and took us to see the wallabies and the tiny deer. I have never heard a deer squeak like a little mouse but it was the sweetest little thing that loved scratches on its head. The food we had for lunch was great, I mean honestly you don't get quality food like that at places like this here in the States. Its more like overpriced deep fried foods and hot dogs here, not jacket potatoes and freshly baked victoria sponge cake. On our way out we met a lovely lady in the gift shop that spent a lot of time giving us information on other places and actually helped us decide against spending a whole day somewhere we weren't sure about and we got to use that day in a lovely place instead. We are already looking forward to going back this fall and visiting all the lovely animals and people again. Also, there is a horse with a little moustache! I mean come on..thats a must see
